The Low Vision Clinic is a free service provided by Eye Care Specialists Sunshine Coast for patients with visual impairment that require assistance to better function in daily life.
Each low vision session takes one hour. It should be stressed that this is not treatment of the condition, but rehabilitation and counselling.
Rehabilitation allows patients to make best use of their remaining vision in order to maintain and enhance quality of life using lighting techniques, magnifiers and viewing techniques. The clinic has an extensive range of magnifiers and other visual aids such as closed circuit television (CCTV).
We can also arrange home visits from an orientation and mobility instructor from the Guide Dogs Association of Queensland.
